Resumen del Editor

A groundbreaking work of investigative journalism, The Terror Factory: Inside the FBI's Manufactured War on Terrorism exposes how the FBI has, under the guise of engaging in counterterrorism since 9/11, built a network of more than 15,000 informants whose primary purpose is to infiltrate Muslim communities to create and facilitate phony terrorist plots so that the Bureau can then claim it is winning the war on terror.

An outgrowth of Trevor Aaronson's work as an investigative reporting fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, which culminated in an award-winning cover story in Mother Jones magazine, The Terror Factory reveals shocking information about the criminals, con men, and liars the FBI uses as paid informants - including the story of an accused murderer who has become one of the Bureau's most prolific terrorism snitches - as well as documenting the extreme methods the FBI uses to ensnare Muslims in terrorist plots, which are in reality conceived and financed by the FBI.

The book also offers unprecedented detail into how the FBI has transformed from a reactive law enforcement agency to a proactive counterterrorism organization that traps hapless individuals in manufactured terrorist plots in order to justify the $3 billion it spends every year fighting terrorism.

Eye opening

This book is a horror story, but the real scary part is that it's true. I have always known that the FBI did questionable things during the Hoover days. I've heard the excuses that the FBI gave back then of it was a different time, or they were fighting the mob. I was shocked to read how the FBI used the most vulnerable of our society to build a case of terrorism. It also surprises me how nobody in the FBI or Justice Department all the way down to the jury never questioned how the FBI used criminals to target these people. The research from this author is very indepth and informative. It really makes you think how can this happen in America.

All Part of the Plan

It was very informative with a lot of examples. After listening to this book I now understand the joke told me as a child "FBI agents can't find their dick in their pants."

the inner workings of the FBIs obsessions with bureaucratic job security

His own political bias tainted his objectivity, but was interesting to hear about the stagnant obsessions of this degenerate bureacracy.

Quite a few things , Has really opened my eyes

How crooked out government can be , also how they act so blind to other major issues. America is the land of opportunity but at what cost.

Leftist Propoganda

Although the author Makes a good case about the corrupt FBI, it isn’t until the end of the book you realize he is a leftist ideologue. I had suspicions throughout the book but at the end you realize he is a Muslim apologist claiming that “right wing extremism” is worse. Typical leftist nonsense

Poorly researched

This book is meant to sway opinion away from the fact that the Muslims who engaged with the undercover FBI were innocent and duped. This is untrue. They were more than eager to kill citizens and officers when offered the chance. They were people that if approached and joined actual terrloeists would in fact kill innocent people in accordance with Jihad. It reinforces my thought that we should weed these bad people out BEFORE they kill. I disagree with the author 100%

NOT A COMPELLING STORY

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The author has an agenda, and what would have been better is an unbiased account of what is happening with the FBI's JTTF. Instead, what you get is chapter after chapter of the same type of story - the FBI framing some "innocent" guy.

Has The Terror Factory turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

Would you listen to another book narrated by Scott Drummond?

No

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

The author's bias against the FBI's JTTF is so deep that he is unable to offer any objective reporting of the situation. I am very disappointed in his propaganda piece masquerading as a book.

Any additional comments?

I would not recommend this book or this author to anyone.

Anti American leftist garbage

The author is clearly anti law enforcement and has not grasp on the reality of undercover work. These suspects are dangerous, anti American people who would have surely gone on to kill. Thank God the FBI got these scum off the streets.
