great classic

I really enjoyed this reading. still a wonderful story to be loved by all ages. reader was wonderful.

Not like the movie

It took me a bit to enjoy the voice of the narrator. The changes in his voice for the different characters is subtle, but you can tell who's who. I always loved this movie as a kid. The book is way more detailed, which is what I expected. However, this was not what I expected. I did enjoy it and glad I took the time to listen.

We enjoyed listening while riding. The reader did a nice job. Easy to listen. Pleasant voice. A good book for our vacation.

Aristocratic English accent for a Swiss family?

Where is a nice soft Swiss German accent? Classic story, wrong image of a Swiss patriarch. I kept expecting. "God save the Queen" to pop out. of his very proper rBritish accent.

A classic for a reason.

This is still such a beautuful, wholesome story of family cheerfully making do in all situations, and working hard together to carve out a good and full life. A delightful listen.

Great narration

Great narration and story. Quite a bit different from the Disney movie but really interesting

Wholesome and with strong family values. A great book to read together as a family. Especially if you believe in the care and provision of God in your life and daily affairs.

Not the complete book

I started listening to this because I’m reading it for a book club. I don’t always find enough time in the day to sit with the book so I like to have the audio version as well. I was sad when I realized that this version leaves out sections of the book. So I miss a lot of the good philosophical discussions that should be here. For that reason I am not giving it full stars. I didn’t see anywhere that it states it’s a revised version.

Kill first, ask questions later

See it, kill it. Plus the diversity of fauna is downright unbelievable. Would never have been published in this century.
