Another brilliant Harper story

Really, this woman is almost TOO talented a writer. I mean, I'm now totally bereft until she manages another title. :(
It did take me longer to get into The Survivors, because I wasn't totally enthralled with any one character. Didn't take too long, though, before I was pulled in; and then it was another Jane Harper novel that had me listening far too late at night, rivetted ..

I Nearly Gave Up On This Book

I could have given up after the first couple of chapters because it was slow moving and a little boring. But thankfully I didn't because after a while the slow moving story becomes captivating.

It's not an exciting page turner, but an evocative story that you can see in your mind as it happens. I hope they make a movie out of this story. It would be visually stunning.

My wife put me onto Jane Harper. She enjoyed being able to relate to Australian places, characters and culture. After listening to The Survivors I know what she means. It's definitely Australian and in particular rural/small town Australian.

A great yarn

I enjoyed this book perhaps more than Jane Harper two last books. Well-paced, a good plot and I didn’t predict the ending.

I enjoyed the characters and the depiction of small-town life.

The reader did a good job.

Every book is terrific. This is the best.

I love Jane Harper's books and so far, this is my favourite.
It is a wonderful, atmospheric story set on the wild coast of Tasmania. As usual, the underlying story is so
good you don't really care 'who done it'.

Another great book from Jane Harper

This author is amazing - every book has been excellent, pulling me in gradually until I was well and truly hooked. I listened to It in 2 sittings but that was only because I fell asleep (it was very late though). I missed a movie I wanted to watch cause I couldn't stop listening. Steve Shanahan was excellent too. A book can be ruined because of bad narration but a good narrator enhances a great book enormously as it has in this case. I totally recommend this book to everyone, as I recommend all Jane Harper's books.

Familiar plot structure but equally as good as The Dry

Great narration helps bring yet another very Aussie story alive. Although this novel has obvious similarities to The Dry in harking back to a previous time and someone returning to a place that has some dark memories, yet the plot is its own whodunnit. The character development, the flashbacks and slow burn of the unfolding story were as effective as they were in The Dry and if you liked that earlier novel then this will not disappoint.
