Interesting mystery, interesting characters

I enjoyed this mystery overall - until the end there were surprises being revealed. I kept running theories thru my head of what happened, which is a good sign for a mystery book for me. The only reason for not a full 5 stars for me on the story (narration was 5 stars) was because it was a stressful read (little break in the suspense) and it was rather long.

Strap in .. it’s a wild ride

The author’s Intricate crafting of a multi-faceted story.. not to be missed. The narration was perfect in tone and character.

Dazzling story

This book is entertaining and clever. A breath of fresh air. Highly recommend— historical, romance, mystery and great characters to love and hate. Narrator is amazing.

LOVE-LOVE-LOVE!!

This book had it all for me. A female, main character who was smart, had faults but didn't need anyone to save her. The writing was excellent and the plot twists were incredible. I will be recommending this book to my book club friends.

What a ride!

This novel has a Dickensian feel. At first I thought the story would be similar to other magician and illusionist tales set in the same time period. Boy, was I delightfully surprised! This story has so many interesting twists and turns. I had no idea how it would end.

So many good things about this book!

Wow! I loved the details - the twists - the history! So cleverly written! I liked every aspect of this story: its characters, the narration , the captivating plot…loved it all!

Exceptional

I rarely leave reviews but this novel demands kudos.
A book of this length usually has some dull areas of filler. Not here. The author kept this readers interest throughout with all of the twists and turns and unexpected revelations. I highly recommend and thank the author.

Lots of twists

Enjoyed this adventure into 18thc British society and the role of magic card reading. Very intricate plot structure that the author pulls off. Well done!
