Interesting storyline!

In depth storyline with great plot twists and captivating narration. Perfect YA Paranormal read with relatable characters.

A supernatural young adult delight!

This story engaged me from the start. Gotta say, the dad only drinking “tomato juice” got me in the beginning.

The mc Mikey is just a wholesome boy who happens to suck the life out of people slowly and he has no idea why. We get to follow him on his journey of finding out who, and what, he is.
I laughed out loud multiple times throughout this story. It’s thrilling, heartwarming, and magical.

Some of the dialogue could lean more on the corny side, but I think I just got too old and cynical in that department. If I was younger it probably would have been a 5⭐️.

But I really enjoyed the writing, characters, and plot twists. I really enjoyed the friendships. Marcus was a fav. All in all it was a good time.

Will definitely read more of this authors work.

This is like Divergent meets Harry Potter…only problem I have is it ended!! I need the second book asap

The story has an excellent pacing and truly interesting characters. This story has one of the best magic system I’ve come across, which the author has clearly put a lot of thought into. I am very excited for book 2.

A Superb Fantasy

Although Mikey was told by his mom that he was special, he still couldn't figure out why and how.
What a story! You get a mixture of suspense, fantasy, magic, vampires, and much more.
I liked the story. It was enjoyable to listen to.
The narrator is very eloquent and professional. He helps you feel the ups and downs and the changing tones of the characters throughout the story.

A captivating fantasy novel with a lot of suspense from the beginning till the end.
The narrator is superb.
I really enjoyed it.

A decent story

this story is pretty good overall, a bit YA for my taste, and if you have read or listened to more than 25 or so fantasy books, it is rather predictable. I would still recommend giving it a try yourself if you find the summary interesting. just be aware that the MC can be a bit of a "white knight" who somehow understands why everyone does the bad things they do and accepts it as if it is nothing. Sadly, I find these kinds of characters extremely unrealistic and boring they always AlMOST give in to anger like a trillion times but never do because they are the "hero" of the story.

3.5 Stars but I round up since people often see 3 stars as bad on audible.

Great Narration with good story line

This has a great narration which I think is so important when listening to an audio book - and it complimented the story line of the book very well. First class.

it's like the new generations Harry Potter

I am obsessed with this book. I haven't been this intrigued while reading a fantasy book since I read Harry Potter for the first time. I can't wait to read the rest of the books by this author.
