Hooked from chapter one
I am so invested in this story! From chapter one I couldn’t stop. All the feels. Ans seriously a mothers love will get you in the feels. Also I wanted to junk punch someone so many times. I’m not sure I have ever been angry at people in a book. I wasn’t prepared for that cliffhanger as I was driving down the road while listening. I literally screamed “Noooooooo” when it ended lol.

Love this story
This is my first book by Emma and I'm glad I took a chance. This story was amazingly good and kept my attention all the way through. I really enjoyed it.

Lots of possibilities, can’t wait for the rest.
I love the possibilities of this series BUT this book on its own was a little disjointed . I’m sure everything will be clarified in future books and I’m definitely excited to keep going, but this first book left me little confused and a lot annoyed (at one character specifically). I still enjoyed the book and will definitely keep going once the series in completed. The performances by the narrators (Bridget & Jake Bordeaux) were perfect, as usual.

Dark and full of emotions.
There is a prophecy regarding the starlight heir, a woman and her daughter who have no control over their lives. Every one of them wants a semblance of happiness they aren't given. This book is for readers who love magic, shifters, and tragedy mixed with a little hope. It's definitely triggering, but worth the listen and that cliffhanger was a good one for a twist.

magic and shifting
a life of the chosen heir. but have no say or control of your life. very interesting and if you don't pay attention you might miss something important. magic shifters vampires. add the heir chosen every generation and fight over until the one now is a new one of a kind heir. where every wants to use but are afraid or disgust. don't want anything to do with the poor girl. bully and keep her submissive. until she realize her power and finally wants to break free up love happy. even if that's alone with no one around.

Looking forward to the next
I love the story, I like the characters. I wish there was a bit more background on everyone involved. Don’t really know who any of the MMC’s are beyond superficial. The male narrator is painful. He has one character yelling everything, including his inner thoughts, and every other MMC has an accent for some reason.
