Not impressed

This book is definitely different from other Tess Gerritsen's books. I am just not sure if I disliked the story or the narrator. I feel that Jane Rizzoi was taking over the main character. Also, the beginning does not match the ending. Very awkward book.

Different but Tess never lets me down

I had difficulty getting into this book because it began as much more of a romamce than a mystery. Never the less Tess Gerritsen is a favorite of mine so I toughed it out and finished it. I am very glad that I did!

Loved this book

I loved this book. I felt like the narrator put me in Brody's Watch. I think I will listen to it again.

Creepy

Maybe it’s just me but I found this to be creepy. Lasted about 3 hours and I’m done with it. Moving on

New England narrators

I wish they would hire narrators from New England, if not Maine. The place names confuse people from Away.
Other than the misfortune of not being a Mainer and insufficient research, the narrator did a good job.
The story is some classic gothic stuff plus very horny ghosts, because that's how we do. Read it, enjoy.

Not what I expected

Tess Gerritsen is one of my favorite authors but I was sorely disappointed by this book. The writing style was good as the vocabulary appropriate, however the story’s plot was a bit predictable.

I thought I didnt like Ghost Stories!

Tess has dragged me kicking and screaming from romance suspense to a riveting ghost story. I’m reading it a second time to figure out just exactly hoe she got me!!!

Excellent read/listen

Huber really brings this story to life and Gerritsen never disappoints in her vivid descriptions of setting and character.

Slow but enjoyable

It was better than I expected. Some parts dragged a bit, other parts were predictable but overall I like the story.

Ghost sex… ghost sex is what stood out.

A huge R&I fan, I figured I couldn’t lose with Gerritsen. This is not her normal storyline… this is waaayy not her normal storyline. Hilary Huber was fabulous as always- though I can’t help but think she looked at the script and went… wait. What??? It was cringy, the “bad” guy was obvious and just not the style I am used to from TG. Every creative person needs to dabble and draw outside the lines to hone their craft. I’m just going to be sticking to her normal right down the road of mystery and murder path from now on.
