I started this book on audio but was so hooked, I also bought it on Kindle for $2.99 because I could not put it down!

Such an intriguing story. Beautifully performed.

I was immediately swept up in this story. It never lagged or ceased to entertain. Paul Shelley was the perfect narrator. Do yourself a favor and give this one a listen.

Captivating. Compelling.

Superb narration does justice to this tale, one much more nuanced, psychologically complex & redemptive than most body double plots. Even had the novel lacked these sophisticated elements, it would still have been a rollicking good story; with them it is a gem.

Classic and twisted

I like psychological thrillers but find them hard to discuss at book groups. This has plenty of human behavior and perception questions to chew on.

Ending Options

The narrator read it very well. There could have been so many different ending possibilities and guess this ending was as good as any. I think I would have liked a little happier ending. But I don't know how a happier ending could have been achieved.

Drew me right in

This was an excellent novel, keeping my attention all of the time. Characters were very well developed, narrator was perfect, Lovely twists and turns. Very much worth listening to!

Not the ending I imagined but still fun to read

I guess the ending felt like a let down but the characters are well written and easy to picture.

The Scapegoat

I realized when I began listening to this story that I watched a movie based on this book some years ago. The book is much better than the movie. Loved the story and narration.

Breathtaking...

Matthew Rhys maybe the hottest, most talented Welsh Actor in Hollywood right now. But no ones comes close to the performance by the reader of this Audiobook. He is as gifted at performing as DuMarier is at writing.

Much respect.

overall 4.75 stars. I liked everything about the story, especially the narration but the ending fizzled.
