Many engrossing stories!

This is a wonderful collection of many of Ryan Green's works. The narration is easy to listen to. Mr. Green has a way of writing these stories that incorporate the facts in such a way that you don't feel that you are reading a police report. You learn about the thoughts and inner workings of these criminals that causes you to wonder about cause and effect on the human psyche. Every story is about a terrible criminal yet every story is quite different. I enjoy listening to help make mundane tasks (dishes, anyone?) more enjoyable and learn something at the same time.

True Monsters

Mr. Green has the ability to take facts and weave them together in a way that is easy to read but also chilling. Some true crime books seem to be "just the facts, ma'am", which often makes for dry reading. Not so with Mr. Green's books! And, once again, he has managed to make these true monsters seem very realistic and even sympathetic at times. I always hate to say that I enjoyed a book like this or that I was entertained by it; it is too disturbing to describe it in this way.

The author has taken obscure (at least to me) serial killers and brought them to life. I appreciate the fact that Mr. Green not only delves into the mind of the killers, he also brings the victims to life and gives them a name and a personality. He has done a great deal of research in order to give the reader a lot of facts, sometimes many years after the crimes occurred. I always know that when I read one of his books, I will be horrified (but also entertained). It's hard to imagine how many truly awful people there are in the world.

Even though I had previously read the ebook versions of these stories, listening to the audiobook was even more chilling. The narrator does his usual outstanding job in bringing the book to life. If you are a true crime fan, this is a great collection and you won't be disappointed.

As I have mentioned in other reviews of Mr. Green’s work, his unparalleled skill for adroitly fusing fact, psychoanalysis, and well-reasoned conjecture into an informative and highly readable account stands alone in its ability to transport the reader back in time allowing us to experience, almost first-hand, the life stories of his fascinating, yet deeply flawed subjects. Couple that with the perfect narration provided by Steve White, whose voice can draw you into a story so completely that you think you are right there watching the events unfold, and you have a mesmerizing experience with each of the stories in this collection. I would urge any devotee of this genre who has not read all these stories to grab this collection and settle in for a great audio experience.

I read each of these books as they came out, but going back and listening to the stories as an audiobook collection makes them even more memorable. I did receive a free copy of the audiobook but my review reflects my honest opinion and is offered on a completely voluntary basis.

Ryan does it again!

I think he found a pretty good niche with the way he delivers the books. I can’t wait to see what he writes about next. These books are very in depth and detail, very good narration as well by Steve White.
