Resumen del Editor

Don and Rosie are back in Melbourne after a decade in New York, and they're about to face their most important project. Their son, Hudson, is having trouble at school: His teachers say he isn't fitting in with the other kids.

Meanwhile, Rosie is battling Judas at work, and Don is in hot water after the Genetics Lecture Outrage. The life-contentment graph, recently at its highest point, is curving downwards.

For Don Tillman, geneticist and world's best problem-solver, learning to be a good parent as well as a good partner will require the help of friends old and new. It will mean letting Hudson make his way in the world and grappling with awkward truths about his own identity. And opening a cocktail bar.

a lovely conclusion to an amazing series

I completely adore this series. I would love to be a part of the circle of family friends and co-workers that make up the wonderful and engaging characters.

Ignore critics!

Before I read this third and final narration from Don Tillman, Greatest Problem-Solver Ever and genetic professor, I read a review that said the “fizz” had gone out of the concept. I disagree. Of course the characters have matured in over a decade of time between the second and third books, and Hudson (Human Under Development + son) is a major new character, but the story is still strong and, dare I say it? logical. I am a mental health professional and have worked extensively with the people with autism and people who were previously diagnosed with Asperger’s. I strongly disagreed with the change in the DSM 5 including both on the spectrum and the stereotypical nature of the criteria. The Rosie books stress that we are different, with strengths and weaknesses and struggles. Don Tillman has been a delightful revelation into the thoughts and feelings of someone who is not “neurotypical.” (Hateful labeling.) I recommend these books over “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime” for understanding people with this brain configuration! Dog in the Nighttime seems to focus on the devastation of the lives around the main character while the Rosie books give us the inner working of the person dealing with the daily challenges. Problem solved!

A delight!

A delight in every way. Every bit as wonderful as the first volume, "The Rosie Project."

Wonderful characters

This matched the first book precisely. I was not as excited when reading the second book but this installment redeemed the entire series.

Don, Rosie and Hudson: A family underdevelopment

In books one and two, we became familiar with the wife and baby projects. This book takes us ten years forward to find the baby under development is now Hudson who is 11 years old. The primary focus of this book is the Hudson project. Don becomes a stay at home father (during the day) and a bar owner at night; yet, his and Rosies primary goal is the welfare of Hudson who the school thinks has autism. I don't want to give away the story, but this is more than a humorous look at Don and Rosie's life, it is a story of a family underdevelopment and the lessons we learn in life.

Gremae Simsion's portrayal of autism is insightful, moving and entertaining. I loved the dialog and vocabulary. I will read more of Simsion's work.
