I had been looking for a book on the Romanov dynasty and this was exactly what I was looking for. It's a unique and compelling read and quite a shocking insight into all twenty of the Romanov tsars and tsarinas.

I choose this audiobook to listen to because it was about the Romanovs. There was a brief time in my life where I was interested in the last czar's family so the title caught my eye. I'm still interested in the topic,

Very Informative!

This was a very easy guide. The author describes the story of the Romanov family as well as Russia as a whole, and I found the whole thing fascinating. If you have any interest in the history of the last Tsar and his family, I would highly suggest this book.

Very useful for people who want to start studying Russian history, short yet clear and very well structured.

Great audiobook

The writer effectively gives a family tree, and brief single line identifier of the main characters through several periods, so that users can keep track of the many players, some of whom were around for a very long time. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, the storyline will appear quite familiar in some places, with the difference being, of course, these stories happened!

Excellent comprehensive history of the Romanov rule of Russia. Starting from the first ruling Romanov to the tragic end of the Romanovs. Very well written and read. I highly recommend for anyone interested in this important part of Russian history.

absolutely wonderful historical nonfiction

I found myself wishing the author would go deeper into the lives of the common people and help us understand the roots of the revolution better. But that is not within the scope of this book - this is a survey that has a lot of ground to cover and does a magnificent job of it.

Most instructive

I particularly liked the view given in the introduction. However, the Romanov clan was a very crude, selfish, and ruthless bunch. The history of their antics was very dull. This is not against the audiobook, but rather the whole family.

I got this audiobook, more like the true story.and I will keep this audiobook in my draw for the children in our family. Finally, some of them force like to know the true story of them.
