I wrote this book because I wanted to tell my story. I wrote this book because I wanted to share my experiences and what I’ve learned from living my days. I wrote this book because I wanted to help those who did not get the kind of opportunities I got in life–for those who did not perceive hardship the way I did. I learned from my struggles and challenges, and with time I learned to appreciate and be grateful for both the good and the bad.

It took some time, but I eventually came to realize how crucial the pain had been for my journey and how much it had shaped me and helped me grow. I want you to know my story so that you can think about yours. I wrote this book to tell those who will read it that I made it and that I am on the road to independence and true happiness when growing up alone was one hard chore. I made it and so could you. I could figure things out for myself and so you will–just make sure you want it. Just want it! Believe yourself not just in yourself. Believe the voices you hear in your head. Believe the images you see in your head. They are true. Your job is to make them a reality. Go out there and make them a reality.
