Acerca de esta escucha

As Russian forces closed in on Berlin and Hitler’s premiership drew to a close, many Nazi officials fled Germany. In this startling, meticulously researched account, acclaimed journalist Uki Goñi unravels the complex network that led them to Argentina. Relying on international support—in Scandinavia, Switzerland, and Italy—and the enthusiasm of the Vatican and President Juan Perón, Goñi shows how this ratline allowed Adolf Eichmann—the architect of the Final Solution—Josef Mengele, Eric Priebke, and many more, into the country. Both riveting and rigorous, this remarkable investigation sheds vital light on both a disquieting episode in Europe’s history and the ties between Argentinian Catholic Nationalism and Fascist movements in Europe.

A true eye opener. So well written and insightfully read. I highly recommend to anyone interested

WOW

Started slowly but it’s a true account of the Nazi escape so it was worth it. It became impossible to stop listening after the first few chapters. Cheers to Goni for the outstanding effort put into this book. Highly recommended

Excellent book with outstanding research.

This book is like getting a box of 1500 pieces of a puzzle with a picture of the clouds, the sea and the sky.
One begins by joining the 4 corners and then connecting the frame. Slowly and painstakingly the whole puzzle is pieced together and forms a clear picture - but you only see the whole picture when you fit the last piece in place.
Uki Goni excels - not only in his meticulous research over a period of six years - but also with his vivid account of the historical significance that Argentina played in the fate of Europe prior, during and after WW2.
I highly recommend this serious book for all those who truly wish to dig deep into the archives despite the fact that you will unearth some truths which may be difficult to digest about our allies as well as our foes.
Pat Grimes, the narrator. added to this unforgettable listening experience.

An historical masterpiece

My biggest problem with this is the narrator didn't bother to do any research on the names. There were so many mispronounced names that is was painful. Story is good.

If Philippe Sands wrote the foreword then it is worth a listen.
