This is a dictation of his diaries

There is not much commentary or context behind the words in this book. If you remember the 80s and the political issues than this book makes a good read. If you don't remember much of the 80s or need more context you may need to read another book about Reagan. The reader is very boring.

this is an awesome book it's actually Reagan's White House diaries there are five in total and if you ever wanted to know about the 8 years of the Reagan presidency these are the volumes that you should read

True American Hero

The diaries reflect the true Ronald Reagan as one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States. Not the Reagan portrayed by journalists (alternately the most dangerous man in the world or a dottering old fool). His love for this country and his firm conviction of the failure of communism are clearly evident. His mission to defeat communism is clearly the focus of his efforts. Most touching and refreshing is the devotion he has to his wife Nancy. The diaries show his humanity, faith, compassion, strength and morality.

The Diaries of President Ronald Reagan were amazing. To hear a summation of his day to day duties were inspiring and educational. He truly was a great patriot who change the world and way of life for the better during his 8 years...GOD BLESS RONALD REAGAN 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Not to bad

I find myself wondering how can anyone write a negative thing about this GREAT MAN. Well sometimes writers are only half as good as the subjects they write about. I always enjoy reading or listening to books about Ronal Reagan, this one is no exception.

Very pleasant

The only problem was I wish he would announce the year mor often but other than that it was lovely!!!

Could have done without the music.

I didn't care for the music that was interspersed throughout the reading. It was a distraction more than anything else.

Worth listening to

Would you listen to The Reagan Diaries again? Why?

Proves that the RR who spoke to us on TV for 4 years was the real RR. Sincere. Loved the country he served. Worshipped his wife. Wanted to serve honorably and did so. The selections were balanced. The man's discipline showed through from year to year.

very detailed but struggled with story

I was expecting this to be more like the Kennedy diary. If felt like it was being read in a one tone style. Good for history buffs.
