Feminist Historical Romance
I rarely write reviews but want to say how much I enjoyed this book. It can be hard to find a satisfying romance (particularly historical) with a heroine that is strong but also multi-faceted and on those rare occasions that I do the book is such a much richer experience. I thought Sienna Francis did a fantastic job and in addition to looking for more books by Scarlett Peckham, I’ll be on the lookout for more books narrated by Sienna.

WOW. Just WOW.
Best romance novel I’ve read in a long while. Beautiful prose and a strong historical voice. The male lead is genuinely droolworthy and the female lead is emotionally complex and authentic. Great pairing with a heart wrenching love story, sizzling sex and a sweet, satisfying HEA. Can’t wait to read the next one! Bravo!

A new favorite
The Rakess is destined to be one of my favorite historical romances of all time. The prose is gorgeous and the narration beautifully done! Bravo!! One I will surely read again.

Did not Like
This book is written as if the heroine is telling a story. I don't like that.
