Resumen del Editor

There are lots of books about magic, but how many of them actually explain how magic works or more importantly how to get a consistent result that meaningfully changes your life? The Process of Magic strips away the glamour and image of magic to focus on the reality of how real magic (magick) works and what you can do to customize your magical workings.

Instead of relying on prescriptive spells and rituals, why not learn the fundamental mechanics of practical magic and design your own workings? With the Process of Magic you’ll learn exactly that and much more:

  • What the 11 principles of magic are and how they create your magical workings.
  • What the eight types of magic workings are and how to customize them.
  • How to methodically approach magic as a process that produces results.
  • How to troubleshoot and fix your magical workings.
  • How to get results that last.

If you’ve ever gotten results that don’t stick, or tried to do a working and come away feeling like nothing worked, then The Process of Magic will help you demystify magic and make it into a spiritual practice you can use to improve and enhance your life.

Thought provoking

Firstly I’d like to say that this audiobook is of great quality. I know we’ve all tried to listen to an audiobook and had the quality be poor, but you will not find that to be the case here.

As for the book itself Taylor has put together a no nonsense book on the inner workings of magic that is stripped of the colorful trappings we each lay over the gears and levers of our magic. He also shines a light on some components that I don’t find many, if any, other magicians focus on, ourselves. Our thoughts and beliefs, and how these personal touches factor in to our magical workings. This is a book that I would feel comfortable handing to a beginner and an adept in equal measure. I’m happy to have it in my library, and plan to reread it several times to glen as many morsels from it as possible.

All the pertinent questions for your practice

Any constructive question you can think of for your practice can be found in this book. It can also help you come up with a general and more importantly a personal definition for what magick is to you. I love this book and have listened to it at least 5 times since I purchased it.

Fantastic book!

I had never read anything by this author before and this was also my introduction into this type of book. I did alot of research before picking this book, and I was not disappointed. I love how the author's viewpoints allow for the reader to interpret and apply them to their own practices. Thank you!!!

Some Questions should be Answered

This book was wonderful. The process of magic is a book I'll come back to many times. The questions it makes a magician answer help. A lot of life goes examined. This carries over into magic. This book helps to stop this natural glossing over of the spell casting process. There are very few books that actually help me grow but this one does.

The narration to me is kind of strange. It is a matter of imagination. I don't imagine the books creator sounds like this. The actor is still engaging though.

I was lucky enough to get a reviewer's copy. If I'd bought it the review would be the same.

Great Distillation

While not an essential read, it is certainly a beneficial one. He does a great job at distilling some of the connective tissue to the art of influence. There were certain aspects that were left out but I'm sure some of that was intentional, which leaves one with the ability to reverse engineer their own practice in a structured way that can lead to more confidence in one's own tradition.

Thought-Provoking Book for all Magicians

Although the author says this is not a "Magic 101" book, I think beginners can get a lot out of listening to it. It offers many useful ideas that I haven't seen in any other book. The book gives a thorough overview of what magic is, and how to design and use magical processes and systems. I found the author's focus on identity, individuality, meaning, creativity, and pragmatism to be refreshing. I have read many books on magic this year, and this was one of the best.

Amazing book of practical magic

Was given a review copy of the audiobook and loved it so much I bought the paperback and read and underlined that. Very insightful and game changing approach to practical magic. If you only read one book of magic, this is the one you want to read. If you already have a practice this will help you improve your effectiveness in many ways. Highly recommend.
