Resumen del Editor

An introvert to the core, Aria Scott spends her days in the shadow of her more popular sister, Sophia Scott. The twins are drastically different, and Aria harbors deep-seated anger with Sophia that began their freshman year of high school and simmered well into senior year. When Aria receives a postcard from a mysterious author named X on her birthday, she finds herself slowly coming out of her shell and learning there is much more to life than hiding in the shadows of the past. With the help of X, Aria goes on a journey that changes her life forever. Along the way she learns things about herself she never knew, makes a few friends in unusual places, and finds a way to leave the past behind her. Aria gains a new appreciation for the world, and it all began with a little postcard.

Delightful!

Aria and Sophia Scott are identical twins but opposites in life. Whereas Sophia is outgoing and popular, Aria is an introvert who keeps to herself. She and Sophia haven't been close for a long time; in fact, they've been feuding over a boy who came between them. Their best friends are siblings, Mark and Hope Garrison. Sophia and Hope are closer than close and Aria thinks Mark is annoying, at best! On Aria's birthday, a postcard, from a secret person named X, arrives that dares her to do something or make certain changes. She writes back and the communication keeps flowing for most of the school year and they are forcing Aria out of her comfort zone as she discovers more about herself. What I really like about this story is the cast of supporting characters that make up the group of friends. As each of them is introduced to the reader, they become real and believable. The addition of Cordelia as their surrogate mother is perfect for setting the stage of bringing all of the friends and family together. This is the perfect follow-up to The Yellow Note, the first book in the Secret Author series.
Carmen JE Jones does an excellent job with the narration. Her dynamic voice uses the right tone and inflection to bring each character to life.

This one surprised me

I have to say the twist did surprise me. This is another sweet listen. I really enjoy large casts of characters and this author has has a way of telling the entire groups story. Narration is one of the better I’ve heard.

Fantastic High School Realistic Fiction Clean Read

Parents- PG- good for middle school to adults
Language- PG- minimal to nonexistent
Violence- PG- nothing too graphic
Sexual Content- PG Kissing, teen romance

This is definitely geared to the middle and high school readers although others who like to reminisce on High school will enjoy it too. It's a fantastic coming of age story about twin teenage girls with a single parent father. This story was particularly heartwarming with the animosity between the two girls and their very different personalities/lifestyles. This author does a great job of making this rollercoaster of a story very relatable and super entertaining. The overall message of friendship, family, and forgiveness was done beautifully. Definitely a book I do recommend, and I wish they'd use more books like this one in the public schools.

Narrator- did a great job with the differentiations between the characters and was simply fun to listen to.
