Victorian esq horror

I'm a big sucker for Victorian style horror stories plus the little fairy tales told within the book were so good! I was hooked and couldn't stop listening!

Really enjoyed the gothic style and voices.

I have enjoyed this book and the last one, The murmuring bones due to the gothic style and female fatale leads. The voice acting is also excellent and works perfectly with the book.

good story

the story line was very good but the narrator's dramatic voice gets aggravating at times.

The unique tales that were interwoven within the story

I love the authors ability to tell a sad, yet satisfying story. Slaughter has a unique way of writing.

Very good

I really like this book. I found it very interesting. I like the way the magic was used. First to change her looks and then to actually put someone in some else's body. It a complex getting even with bad family members but it still has heart. All of us are shaped by our upbringing and we all want to feel excepted and loved. That doesn't always look the same though. Most would go to great lengths to get that but how far is too far. Even in death can we r.i.p if we still have that longing?? The narrator was good.

Magical

This book is magical. I really hope that there will be more in this world as I was not ready to say good bye to the characters.

Sins Of the Family

This fantasy blends the folklore of witches and wolf people. The story follows a witch who must fulfill a promise of revenge, but who really just wants to be free to be herself. Those around her pull her strings to do as they want, and she must toe the line between loyalties. This is a fun, fast-paced story. I really enjoyed it.

Brilliant

The narrator made the story complete. The tale was intriguing, left me wanting more.

Deliciously dark

I didn’t see the twist that was unfolding and when it became clear what the character was trying to achieve for her deceased mother…. Whew. VC Andrews meets Guillermo Del Toro.
