Charlie Castillo's secret unit has been disbanded - but that doesn't mean he's out of business. As experience has painfully shown him, there are many things the intelligence community can't do, won't do, or doesn't do well, and he has the men and assets to help set things straight.

But the first opportunity, when it comes, is shocking: A FedEx package arrives, bearing photos of barrels containing some of the most dangerous biohazard materials on earth, all of which were supposed to have been destroyed during a raid on a secret Russian factory in the Congo. Who has them, and what do they want? Castillo has a feeling he's not going to like the answers.

I've read the entire now 6 in this series of The Presidential Agent. I've loved every minute of every one. The stories could not be better. This is the only one not read by Dick Hill for which I was very disappointed. He has brought all of the main characters to this book alive in past years. He is a master of dialects and voices. It took me a couple of hours to get used to the new narrator but still an excellent book in this seriies. I now have to wait another year for the next one. This series is one of my favorites. I'm not going to pretend to be a book critic. I just love the characters and each of the plots but will say that they are much better read in the order written. Go to Griffins website to get that information. I have even read the previous ones twice this last year in preparation for the new one. They are worth a do-over. I've read all of Griffins books now but the Presidential Agent series is my favorite.

Loved It But Wrong Narrator

I think Audible has it wrong, the narrator in this book is not Dick Hill. He read the rest of this series and is great. Griffin needs to quit retelling the previous stories in this series each time there's a new book. We read these books for the new stories. We know the characters, we know the previous plot lines. You Don't have to reminds us that we've read 4 books already. Get us back to Dick Hill and move the story along.

This wasn't Dick Hill narrating

I enjoyed the Charlie Castillo adventures. I was disappointed in this one. The story to me not as good as the other. Some of the characters lacked the time in the book as I would liked to have seen, such as Lester. I liked his character and would liked to have seen his role bigger. Also the story behind Lesters first contact wasn't as a fuel truck driver if I remember correctly. He was assigned as Charlie's bodyguard.
Also I believe Dick Hill was a better narrator. I was use to the voices from the other books in the series and I was not happy to find out that Dick Hill didn't do this one.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

not especially.

Would you ever listen to anything by W.E.B. Griffin again?

hope the next one returns to a faster pace and better plot line

Did Jonathan Davies do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

reading was fine

Any additional comments?

book spent way too much time rehashing old plot events and not enought time moving forward with new material. Probably ok if this was the first book in the seriesa person was reading/listening, but way to slow for somenoe following the series.

old ground

The author devotes way too much time to repeat information from previous books in the series. Having read all previous books in the series, I can safely say that this was my least favorite of them all.

Too Much Repetition

GREAT

This was a bit different from previous encounters. There was not as much action as I am used to but more nuisance in the political area. I found it enjoyable. As long as Mr. Griffin keeps writing I will keep reading.

Castillo and his band of merry men

I have enjoyed this series, as I have all of WEB Griffin’s previous work. However, the inaccuracies, back story changes, character changes, and down right poor writing makes this the worst Griffin book to date. I’ll give the next book in this series a try, but it better be an improvement

Disappointing

Not as tight as preceeding novels.
More tongue in cheek than others as well, not so much as to abandon the series but……
