Story

This story touched me it’s sad that someone would have to go through that and at a young age but didn’t follow in the footsteps of his parents and became stronger and a better parents for his children may Allah bless you.

This is a riveting tale of determination

This story was extremely difficult to take in, but the author writes with an incredible sense of triumph and healing. I couldn't stop listening until I had finished the entire book. Jesse Macbeth did a stellar job telling his story. I want to read more of what he has written. Bravo!

Dark and harrowing

An incredibly horrifying but inspiring story of anguish, pain, and success. I praise Allah for giving Jesse the strength to endure then persevere and survive the impossible.

Suspenseful and Exhilarating

Absolutely loved it....A great story from beginning to end. I love how the writer was so vulnerable and honest in sharing his truth.

Jesse's story is so sad and deep. I'm happy he was finally able to find some peace in his life.

Trauma and Healing

I will admit this story was hard for me to get through especially as a loving parent as it contains all forms of child abuse, rape, racism and a breakdown in the justice and child protection system. This story will bring out strong emotions because of the many "Triggers" contained within. Life was tough but this book proves with perseverance and faith you can overcome anything.
I highly recommend this book as it deals with what many children go through silently afraid to speak out because of fear. I received this book at my request but it has no bearing on my honest unbiased review.
