Wrong medium

This was an interesting tale that I was requested to review, it made for an interesting albeit underwhelming read. I found myself enjoying the Irish narration without which I may have had trouble finishing the listen in a timely manner. The bit about the author at the end really cleared up some of the questions pulling at the back of my head, Sonny is a story teller not strictly a novelist and that isn’t a mark against this story I found myself imagining this as a campfire story told dramatically or as an old 70s-80s cheesy meandering fantasy film and I do feel it’s simplicity would have better justice done in those forms.
Overall I appreciate what the author was going for and my favorite aspects of the characters and the story was that the main character was a writer which is not common and sorely needed in more stories; and that the main antagonist was a less conventional creature. I do recommend this book but only passively as it isn’t as gripping as some.

This was a traditional yet new story of a beast that steals from a village and a quest to get their property back.The band is rife with stereotypes and battling among themselves. Andrew McDermot is a good narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

The Ocean Road by Sonny Collins is a fantasy story about saving the world from a great evil. A group of villagers and their local wizard set out to retrieve the mystical Woodrock from the monster Gothmur, who wants to rule the world. The Woodrock is apparently required to be in a specific location, otherwise, the world will be destroyed.

The characters were great, and the narrator was PERFECT for this book.

Loved the story and the narrator's accent / ability to change voices enhanced the story!

This book made me think of a fable.
It is a story of friendship, hope, love greed and heroism. It was really CHARMING.

Decent Fantasy short story

The Ocean Road is a fairly good short fantasy novel. It doesn't really stand out and the story is fairly simplistic without a whole lot of character or world building. The story is a journey to retrieve the magical wood rock that was stolen by an evil creature. The wizard and five others must journey on the ocean road to try and retrieve it within a set amount of time or else the world will never be the same.

The narration by Andrew Mcdermott is pretty good and I like his Irish accent but the production isn't great and sometimes the performance seemed rushed.

Overall it is a fun little story, a bit simplistic and more like a folk tale than a full novel.

The Ocean Road by Sonny Collins is a fantasy story about six volunteers who go on a dangerous journey in the hope of retrieving the magical WoodRock that was stolen to save the world from evil that I listened to on audio narrated by Andrew McDermott. Andrew did an amazing job narrating. I really enjoyed his accent and the voices he used for the multiple characters. This book is outside my usual reading genre but I received a free copy for an honest review. I really enjoyed the story. I look forward to reading future work done by Sonny.

Good story

I enjoyed listening to this story. This story is different from my usual genre but I really enjoyed. The narrator did a great job on the different voices. The storyline kept me interested and is well written. I enjoyed the characters and following them on their adventure. The author did a great job on pulling you into the story. I highly recommend. (I received this audible book free and am leaving a voluntary honest review)

Magical Quest

A magical quest packed with adventure and fun. I was gifted with an Audible oopy and fully enjoyed this novella. The narrator's magical voice pulls you into the story and brings a smile to your face. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon!
