Resumen del Editor

An equal parts heartbreaking and joyous novel about the family bonds we take for granted

Thirty-five-year-old Jenny and her 62-year-old mother Norma have always seen the world differently. Estranged for years, everything changes when Jenny learns of Norma’s dire state and rushes to New York City to make a startling discovery: her mother is sick and homeless. Living in a women’s shelter slated to be shut down by developer Albert “Doc” Brenner, Norma is leading the charge in stopping him. When Jenny learns that Norma is dying of cancer, she gives her mother something that she’s always wanted. Will it be enough? Can mother and daughter put their differences aside before time runs out?

Homeless

This audio book has an amazing plot with excellent character development. Norma is 61 years old, homeless and very ill. Jenny, her 35 year old daughter, has become a successful and wealthy businesswoman. She has been estranged from her mother for a number of years. A friend lets her know of Norma’s state and she is shocked at her physical decline. Norma lives in a homeless shelter that a rich tycoon is going to repurpose as an Arts Center and have all the residents evicted, . Norma, a radical and fighter for the downtrodden in her younger days and even now, fights to stay. Jenny stays to help her mother try and win this fight. This is an excellent story about a mother and daughter's relationship, love, caring and life priorities. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Long and twisted

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a long and twisted story that told the life of a woman, her daughter, and their path to the end of life for the mother and a HEA for the daughter. The ending was the best part. The story showed how even though people were willing to take your money, they still could despise you. It painted a picture of our American society that is so close to the truth it is hard to recognize this as fiction. The narration added to the story. the various voices were distinguishable.

Norma

I loved this book! I think I know Norma personally!lol I liked the characters and the storyline.I did have some moments where I did FF when it got repetitive or during a particularly nasty conversation that never seemed to end.Narration by Robin Siegerman was good. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
