Unexpected

This book swept me away with its incredible story! The narration is downright awesome, immersing you in a world where characters come to life. What truly blew my mind was the ending – totally surprised and unexpected, leaving me in awe. If you love stories that tug at your emotions and throw in an unexpected curve, this book is an absolute gem!

Kept me guessing!

I had 3 different suspects in mind ... it wasn't any of them.

Great Story

Narrator too flat, no variety in the characters voices. The story line did keep my interest.

Excellent read!

It was a little bit slow start but then it kept me guessing. Written well with twists and turns to keep you interested.

I’m glad I didn’t pay for it

It was an ok read to pass the time but honestly I had to slug through it hoping it would pick up. Perhaps it is bc I really did not care for this performer at all. Also, the story really is just high fructose corn syrup for the brain which is fine if that is what entertains you. It was fairly easy to guess “whodunnit “ by mid book.

Biggest dislike: narrator

solid thriller

loved the slow burn. and the narrator did well, however, because the story is mostly set in the perspective of a woman, I would have preferred a female narrator.

Ok story bad narration

The narration left a lot to be desired. The story was pretty good but a lot of unnecessary details. The nonchalant mentions of choclear implants and how they work, recovery from surgery time was way off. Not very believable but ok. I didn’t hate it.

Twists

Just when you think you have it figured out the Author surprises you again. Really great listen.

Manipulation and lies.

Loved this book, first time I’ve listened to Kevin O’Brien, certainly look for more of his novels, I loved his crisp unsentimental way of writing, narration excellent!

Missed the mark

So much of this seemed implausible. The crazies are over the top, the performance isn’t suitable for this book, particularly the parts speaking for deaf people. I enjoy suspending disbelief in a novel but this one was just didn’t allow that somehow, perhaps due to the characters interactions emotionally, very superficial and reactive.
