Get this guy a glass of water

Would’ve been 5 stars all around but the sounds of the narrator’s mouth opening, moving and swallowing is driving me up the wall. Otherwise very captivating narration, excellent story.

A bit frustrating

The narrator did a great job, as always. The author, however, got distracted a few times and started explaining mundane things that had nothing to do with the story, long explanations that became very annoying

Great addition to the Night Watch universe!

This book is a great addition. I really enjoyed entering the world of the twilight, wizards and witches, vampires and shape shifters!

A must for fans of the Night Watch series

This is the 5th book in the night watch series. If you are a fan you definitely want to spend a credit on this one. While not as epic in scope as the previous books, it is a solid read that is thoroughly enjoyable.

You can really tell the difference that this is a Russian author as opposed to the British and American authors I normally read. The book and series is quite dark in places, often with a strong streak of nihilism included. The endings in this series are usually not "happy" but are satisfying.

The world and characters are well developed to the point you almost feel like if you were in Russia you might run into them. The stories in this series are compared to chess matches between the higher powers with the protagonist trying to find his way through and survive. He never really knows what is going on for certain until the endgame. I really like that level of mystery.

The narrarator does a great job, but moves between Russian accents in conversation and a standard almost monotone English even though all the characters are Russian. This takes a bit of getting used to and leads to adding and dropping of accents at times. It doesn't impact the performance but it was noticable to me.

This novel could be read stand-alone but the reader will enjoy it much more and get a fuller experience by listening to the books in order. This one is definitely worth spending a credit on and I hope the author keeps the series going.

Excited

I was so very excited when I found a new Night Watch book was out, and this one was not a disappointment. It picks up slightly after the Last Watch. Same characters. New story. New Story line. Even set up that he can continue the watch. And I will say this, he twisted and twisted the end all the way to the last moment of the story. There is not much I can say about the story without giving away the plot to it, but to say it is as amazing as the last four have been and if you enjoyed them grab this one. Even if you haven't heard them you can grab this one, it is not 100 % that you need to read the first ones to understand it, just slightly helpful if you have.

With the same narrator the stories maintain a cohesive whole and is in my opinion the perfect voice for these stories.

Captivating very captivating.

Is this the last book? I hope not. I almost cried at the end. It took a little bit to get used to listening to the first book. The narrator brought the story to life. It has been fun following Antoine's adventures. I am interested in seeing how Nadia develops and how she strengthens her skills. And I wonder if Slvedvana will return to the watch? A very enjoyable listen. I finished this book in three days as opposed to simply listening to it in my spare time everything else had to come to a stop. As I said very very captivating!

Good continuation of the Watch series. enjoyable

May not be as good as the earlier books, but is still a worthy read, and very enjoyable.

Great story typical super build to a end that isn't American in nature. it is nice to have a new book in the series.
