Look for the central point.

He is clear and explains that in novels the center is what we all search for . It was revealing to me as a painter to think of it as the focal point we enhance using composition resources, like golden rule. Without it composition tends to loosen and the whole painting doesn’t make sense, it is just a pile of lines and colors. Without that central point a novel is just words, descriptions, spare anecdotes.
