I can't really pick out one thing I love the whole story.
the only thing that displeased me is the depiction of the elderly people in this story. I am an 86-year-old woman and if you were to speak to me on the phone you would think of me as being maybe in my thirties I don't have a quivering voice and that was the only thing that displeased me about this whole thing

Simple and surprisingly entertaining
This was my first book from this author. At first, when I began the story, I wasn't the biggest fan of her style of writing. I usually enjoy more poetic wording, richer descriptions, uses of metaphors, etc. The writing felt a little more on the prosaic side and wasn't all too dynamic. However, I was very taken in by the actual story itself. I loved the characters and plot. The performance by the reader is wonderful. There are characters ranging from an 8 year-old little girl to old men and she seems to almost effortlessly bring each character to life with depth, dimension and honesty. Though not my typical type of novel (I kept thinking how it could almost be a Lifetime made-for-TV movie), I still really, really enjoyed it.

Moonlight child is a great and easy read/listen.
It was a great book with a wonderful ending. Easy listening with just the right amount of drama. Good development of characters that you either care for or greatly dislike intensely. Everything resolved in the end.
