Resumen del Editor

Professor Brian Donaldson is on the run. When he discovers his trusty Australian Shepherd spooked one winter night, he is brought face-to-face with an eerie piece of his past and the ghostly specter of a mad scientist that grew up in his midst. With nowhere else to turn, Donaldson confides in a local police detective. The statement he gives offers a disquieting view into youthful ambition, madness, and a crooked spin on evolutionary science gone amiss.

this book that should be discussed and taken apart

Thoughts about the cover of The Measurable Blood. Butterfly, cute! Wait, is that a stamp or something? Is this book about traveling. Okay, I’m game. Bring on the book!

The main character of this book is Brian William Donaldson. Actually, while the story mentions other characters, this book is almost totally about Donaldson. It is as if he’s sitting right beside you telling you about his issues. It’s kinda creepy because this is a spooky story without really being spooky. Something about what Donaldson tells you just seems…off. The way it is read is perfect.

This book is way different from the typical audible book. For one thing, it’s no more than forty minutes! This story is about Donaldson being afraid of another character named Gibson. The second thing about this story that is different than the usual audible book? Sound effects! Doors closing, cars driving by, what sounds kinda like rain, thunder, eerie music…spooky. I’m not even kidding when I say this story gave me goosebumps because of the perfect timing of the sound effects in this story.

This book is Narrated by Erick Mertz and Donald Wright. I absolutely enjoyed the voice of Donaldson. It is great. Rather than being catchy or over done it’s as if the narrator is talking to you rather than reading. It is almost as if he is sitting right next to you talking to you about what Gibson has done and why he’s so upset. The Author is Erick Mertz and this story is thirty-nine minutes long. It’s the perfect length for a car trip or a walk in a park.

I would rate this book for everyone with a 10+. I think it would be perfect for students to listen to for an English class. There is so much about this book that can be discussed and taken apart and still have more to explore. This story left me with chills and in search for a big warm sweater and sitting in a big comfy chair just thinking. Think about the last time you sat and told someone about some event in your life. Were you able to give another the chills, or move them to emotions to be angry, or to be upset on your behalf? The what if, could have, and might be in our own lives leave us always wondering about the things we know, we learn, and we live.

Production was perfect! I can’t stress how perfectly timed everything was and that there were no glitches.
