Outstanding!

As an ancient history lover, I always search for touching, emotional plots based on historical facts; this audiobook is one of them.

An unexpectedly very good listen!

Often overshadowed by his son Alexander, Philip was arguably the better warrior king of antiquity. Gould does a great job telling Philips's story of how he innovated pharynx battle tactics laying the work for Alexander’s greatness. It starts a little slow, but historical fiction fans will love it.

I enjoy Nicholas Guild and this novel did not disappoint. His writing is very much like Gary Jennings.
