Great to see the other side

A great story about acceptance and inclusion told from the LBGTQ+ side.
I was so happy to have a character who was mad about MAGA and the hate they inspire while everyone is saying we need to accept those who aren’t accepting of others.
It was also nice to have a book that pushed back on bible thumping and on church itself for not being inclusive no matter what they preach.

Great story

Loved the athletic portions and the multiple love stories, especially the friendships!
The story could have continued as I loved the characters.

Wish there was a sequel

I loved this book, heartbreaking, beautiful, and real. The emotions that come with returning to the place you grew up knowing it no longer feels like home were conveyed so well. I wish there was another book where we could see the continuation of the story and all of the wonderful characters within

Great Politics!

Good character development and handling of sensitive topics such as racism, sexism, homophobia, misogamy, religious bigotry, etc.

Worst fake accent ever!

Had the reader just related the story in her normal voice, I would have been able to listen to the end.

Wasted credit

I suffered through to the end, but it was undoubtedly the biggest waste of a credit.
The narrator was horrible… Kentucky and Louisiana do not have the same accent. And the story was like getting hit over the head with a woke club. I hate Trump as much as the next self respecting lesbian, but for F*^#’s sake, I don’t need it preached to me in my lesbian literature! We get it, Trump is bad, racism is bad, homophobia is bad.
Odds are, if we chose this book, we know. Seems like the author was trying to convince herself that she knows it too.

Hey, All Southern Accents Aren't the Same

The narrator's egregious massacre of most, if not all of the voices of the characters in this book made it impossible to listen to. I don't know how much I might have liked the story if I could have listened past the first hour.
