These 1028 poems, grouped as 10 ‘Circles’ (mandalas), have variously been called hymns, poems or songs by Sanskrit scholars. The Rik (so pronounced by the ancient Angirases clans, or Seer-Priest families) was an experiment with sound. The emphasis is always on sounding the words perfectly. The essence is the message
As you listen to the text, recognize that the battle is not external but internal. Remove all biases and receive this, not as dogma, but as an evolving lesson to grow from experience. The purpose of “religion” Is to bring one back to self. To remember and to shed the layers we’ve been taught to believe. We already know, we just need to empty our cup so we can remember.
