A great read

A great work of fiction based on historical WW2. I liked how it went from describing the war zone and then a camp as well.

Great view of dedication of nurses in WWII

Very suspense-filled story with some interesting twists right up to the last page. Really enjoyable read.

The story of Kate, the flight nurse.

I didn't like the male voice of Williams daughter and granddaughter. Why didn't you get a female voice for them?

The author brought to life the characters and their roles in wartime.

So poignant

This novel pulled me in from the start. It is so much more than a love story. Each character was well developed and relatable. I had not read a story of World War II from this approach before
The main character, Kate, is strong, kind, loyal and resilient. I was brought to tears a number of times. Xe Sands’ reading was extraordinary. This novel will stay with me for a long time.

Well written but sad

This book was thoughtfully written, but it did not have a satisfying ending. The narrators’ voices or tones were also a little grating.

Great story line and awesome narration!

Great storyline and I loved the narrators! Xe Sands makes every book wonderful! I’d rather listen to her than read the book.

Heart-rending WWII historical fiction

Highly recommend this book for lovers of historical fiction! My favorite part was the emphasis on the role of flight nurses in the war. Descriptions of some of the circumstances in the book made them feel so real and terrible. Main characters were very likeable and represent real people whose contributions were so admirable. The romance element in this book really touched my heart as did the descriptions of what others endured during the war.

Even though there’s different locations it was easy to follow!

Such a different perspective than other historical world war accounts! Enjoyed it so much! So many angles !
