When the missing boy is found, his wounds and description of the culprit match the creature of the local legend. With the girl still missing, Spenser searches through her room. The clues from her diary and texts reveal more layers of twists in the case.

There are truly all sorts of monsters in this world. Legends, lores, big hairy creatures, and a missing girl. Sweetwater Falls is full of surprises. And a mandated vacation for Spenser might be in order after this.
