Resumen del Editor

Dear Mr. Manson....

It started with a college course assignment, then escalated into a dangerous obsession. Eighteen-year-old honor student Jason Moss wrote to men whose body counts had made criminal history: men named Dahmer, Manson, Ramirez, and Gacy.

Dear Mr. Dahmer....

Posing as their ideal victim, Jason seduced them with his words. One by one they wrote him back, showering him with their madness and violent fantasies. Then the game spun out of control. John Wayne Gacy revealed all to Jason - and invited his pen pal to visit him in prison....

Dear Mr. Gacy....

It was an offer Jason couldn't turn down. Even if it made him....

The book that has riveted the attention of the national media, this may be the most revealing look at serial killers ever recorded and the most illuminating study of the dark places of the human mind ever attempted.

I disliked how the chapters run. It says chapter six in the beginning but its shows its on chapter seven. But other wise this book is amazing.

Great topic, Inventive technique, but lacks...

Would you listen to The Last Victim again? Why?

No, because the story is not inventive, if the storyline stayed true to the great inventive way Moss gathers his information I would have rated 5 stars.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Narration was okay, he does a great job changing his voices so you know who is talking, however the voices could have used some improvement.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Just when Moss decides to share the details of the conversation/letters he received Moss would say it is to graphic to repeat... Ummm, I am an adult and isn't that why you wrote the book?

Any additional comments?

Author has a good attempt at writing a book, but he needs some maturity/seasoning on writing. I would recommend solely for the unique and inventive way he gathers the trust and information from his subjects.

Utterly disturbing & disgusting.

Extremely detailed conversations with Gacy was disturbing. I applaud Jason for his hard work, continuous research and strong efforts to make a connection with these psychopathic killers.

DISTURBING BUT GREAT BOOK!

This is an exceptional story, and narration. It's CREEPY as hell but fascinating all at the same time. It's a bit hard to listen to some of the more detailed descriptions of Gacy's "conquests," but all in all a GREAT book. I won't spoil the ending, but what happens at the end of the book, and what happens to Jason, are truly worth the read.

Pot calling kettle black

This book was really hard to get through. First of all the person reading it sounded like one of those automated tape recording machines. No change in inflection or emotion. I read a lot of serial killer books and a lot of autobiographies. It’s sad that this guy committed suicide and I know that makes it tough to write something negative. The author comes across as conceited and arrogant. Definitely self inflating. Even the epilogue sounds like he wrote it and just said it was from this other guy. Look at me, look at all the great things that I do. I’m so wonderful. I think it’s sad that nobody read this for him and let him know how he comes across in it. This could have been an amazing story had he left his own ego out of it.

Great listen!

This book is not for the faint at heart. It's very intense. The narrator's voice is hard to deal with at first however don't give up. I found the way he is reading to add to the overall tone of the book. His voice is slightly creepy and the book is extremely creepy. The author is an intelligent individual and he went very far into this project which is quite amazing as I wouldn't have had the stomach for it.
