Someone needed to teach Sir Gawain that courtesy and friendship are just as important as strength and courage.

Sir Balin the Ill-Fated

While most of King Arthur’s knights freely chose a life of duty, for Sir Balin the Ill-Fated, destiny was foretold in a prophecy. Still, no matter how dire the task, a loyal and gallant knight never refuses adventure!

My 6 and 4 year old girls love this book!

What made the experience of listening to The Knights' Tales Collection the most enjoyable?

Reader had an excellent voice that matched the setting of the book and changed with the characters.

Family favorite

Fun stories and brilliantly narrated. My three-year-old up to my 11-year-old were entranced! My husband and I loved it too.

Very funny, narrator excellent

My children, 10 and 12, loved these tales. They were so clever and funny and entertaining the narrator did a wonderful job with different voices. There is an unfortunate emphasis on how beautiful the ladies are, but that was true of all fairy tales of the past.

Lively, engaging, and smart

I'm giving these stories to my nephews and nieces, but I also got a copy for myself. These are funny, lively, and inspire a second--or even a third--thought. They're well-informed by older versions of the Arthurian stories, without being one bit stuffy.

Three cheers for Steve West's excellent performance, and at least a dozen cheers for Gerald Morris's great storytelling. His scholarship gives his stories life and backbone, but his exuberant imagination and his smart, perceptive characters make them sparkle.

Great story and wonderful narration

The stories were fun and engaging, my kids (6 yrs & 8yrs) enjoyed them and it was great listening with them.
Steve West is a great narrator and I have always enjoyed listening to how he brought these characters to life.

This is a very good book about knights and their many adventures. The book includes quests, prophecies, battles and more.

Light hearted knight tales.

I really enjoyed these stories. They were light and humorous and there were no major tragedies to leave you feeling depressed.

A gem! Whole family enjoyed it!

We listened with our 3 boys ages 9-14 and even the adults were chuckling at times! Made time pass quickly on a road trip and my kids immediately asked if there was another book in this series. I would say this is ok for ages 5+ as there is no peril that isn't lighthearted which comes to a good end. Clean, decent, entertaining!
