Patrick Bowers has pursued the nation's fiercest serial killers - and now one elusive foe is back for revenge. Settling into a new post at the FBI academy, Patrick and his fiancée, Lien-hua Jiang, are planning their future together with his stepdaughter, Tessa. But just when his life seems normal, a demon from the past returns to draw him down a dark road he hoped had closed forever. Forced into a desperate hunt to save the two women he loves most, Patrick is in a race against time to stop an international conspiracy from becoming the most widespread act of terrorism in U.S. history.

Richard Ferrone is the perfect choice to have narrate the series. To me he fits the profile of a seasoned FBI agent.
I love the entire series and I hope there are more books to be added in the future.
Excellent book

What made the experience of listening to The King the most enjoyable?
The narration is good and the storyline keeps you hooked and intrigued for the most part. What was one of the most memorable moments of The King?
I like what Raven does to her abductor in the car.Which scene was your favorite?
I like the interaction scenes between Patrick and his daughter. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
You could not make a film out of this book and do it justice.Any additional comments?
This was a pretty interesting book maybe a little dark and gory for some and I think it is ironic that this series is an Inspirational book series because I do not find that they offer any good uplifting inspirations. Of course if you used the reasoning and logic of Agent Bowers inspiration does not necessarily have to be for the good and more likely people are inspired to act on the evil that is in them. I do not listen to these books for any great inspirations anyway but purely for the mystery and intrigue of the story. This book hooks you right at first and does a pretty good job of keeping your attention through out but there are a few eye roller moments, places where it tends to drag, get a little to technical and some scenes you can see coming from a long way off. Also I was disappointed in the ending with a anthropophagus gnawing its way through the chapters of the next book as I was hoping for something different to digest. Overall if you like mystery and intrigue this book does a pretty good job of delivering. An interesting listen with some decent twist but..

Where does The King rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Certainly is among the bestWho was your favorite character and why?
Patrick Bowers, detective, is at his best. Less blood, guts and gore did no harm to the plotline. Suspense was tight all the way. I saw more depth in the other characters and really came to like Ralph a lot. Tessa is more real in this story.Which scene was your favorite?
I liked the scene where he shot Bask with firm decision. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Patrick Bowers at his best.Any additional comments?
I still miss transition sentences when the scenes jump back and forth, causing a head jolt. The research in this series is phenomenal. Well done, Steven James!James is a master at weaving plots
