Good, but with caveats.

This book is perfect for the guilty please of a good story with plenty of steamy scenes, and the good ole student-teacher trope! Even better, it’s set in London against the backdrop of a historical college and lovely accents. A few caveats though - Marc’s relationship with Sophia is problematic at times. He doses quite a lot of telling her how she feels and what she wants, instead of listening. Those bits are hard for the feminist in me to happily listen to. Overall, I do recommend this for a quick weekend listen. Certainly makes house chores go quicker 😉

So, I found this story interesting, enjoyed the exuberance, friendship, innocence, determination Sophia emitted. Marc was sex on a stick, he however did not give me the deep feeling of dominant alpha male I felt from Christian or Gideon. Having said that, this is only book one, I could be mistaken?
Anna Parker-Naples was a perfect narrator portraying Sophia.

Taboo romance

The sparks fly between Sophia and her movie star teacher, Mark. He has a different type of lessons he wants to teach her. They have to hide their rendezvous. The teacher/ student forbidden taboo. He tests her sexual inhibitions to the limits. She just needs to trust him. But how far will he go?

Series or Standalone

Narrator did a good job at giving us a coy, innocent student and dark professor who held special needs.

while It does have BDSM themes I wouldn't go so far as to comparate to 50 sog, this is a diffent setting also to my understanding Marc isn't a saddist just seeks control. Best part is while this was volume 1 the ending gave me a HFN the choice to continue is there but if we wish this can be a standalone.

Great characters

Loved these characters and all their flaws. The author does an amazing job of story building and character development. I was thoroughly entertained by this forbidden romance.

Student /Teacher Romance

This is a student/teacher forbidden romance. Sophia meets successful actor Marc who owns the college she is attending. They have a connection. This is supposed to be like the Fifty Shades books I think its a little darker than those books. Marc is too much of a control freak for me but some people like that. Overall the story was ok the narration was great though

Great storyline

Oh I need more from Mark and Sophia. This is a great storyline, the chemistry is 100% there and I feel this is just the beginning. Performance from Katy is great.

Good "taboo" story

Sophia gets the opportunity of a life time to work with Marc, an Oscar winning actor who started a school. This book is the first book in a series but is the beginning of their relationship and in this book, the author focuses on the exploration of Sophia’s growth. There’s steam, a sub/dom relationship but also the taboo aspect of teacher/student. I enjoyed the development of their relationship but that was just a small part, with much of the book devoted to the steamy aspect of their relationship. The road to relationship development was rocky so expect a little angst- Marc’s push and pull relationship with Sophia did get a bit tiring after a while. Overall, though, this was well-written and interesting although

Anna Parker-Naples has a good voice to play Sophia- young and vibrant. She does an ok job differentiating with her voices, especially with female and male voices but her changes were a little less clear when she was narrating conversations with multiple women.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I was a little worried because some of these books are just crazy sex scene after crazy sex scene. Now I love sex just as much as the next person but I also need a little story with my sex. And this book provides that and more. I also really liked the narrator. Her voice just seemed perfect for Sophia. Definitely no Grate Gatsby or Of Mice and Men, but still very entertaining. I highly recommend!
