Runaway from marriage

She didn’t want to marry a man, who was old and didn’t care for. Her father, who made the arrangement, refused to listen to her, so she ran away. She met a Duke and made him believe she was an old woman until they had an accident. Since they were in Scotland, she made the mistake of saying they were married, which making such a statement confirms with witness that they were married. I enjoyed the many adventures the couple had and the explanations of why the Duke acted towards her. Good story with great narrative.
