Acerca de esta escucha

Manhattan has many secrets. Some are older than the city itself.

The city sleeps. Selene DiSilva walks her dog along the banks of the Hudson. She is alone - just the way she likes it. She doesn't believe in friends, and she doesn't speak to her family. Most of them are simply too dangerous.

In the predawn calm, Selene finds the body of a young woman washed ashore, gruesomely mutilated and wreathed in laurel. Her ancient rage returns. And so does the memory of a promise she made long ago - when her name was Artemis.

it was a great story, & a great book. I did truly enjoy it up until the end. It is not often you find a good book with a female heroine that does not involve romance. so I was quite disappointed when they brought Theo back to life.

This is an excellent start to a series. My only real complaint is that I wish Jordanna Max Brodsky would write more books!

Such a fantastic start to a fantastic trilogy

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Not predictable, the characters are complex and realistic, and I really appreciated the merging of the Ancient Greek pantheon with modern NYC. Well done!

Fun

Slow plot progress. Didn't finish it. Characters and plot idea were ok, but nothing happens.

Slow plot progress.

The Immortals was a welcome alternative to space wars and zombies. As a teen I was fascinated by Greek mythology but never got to take the class.

Refreshing

The narration was great; overall a great listen on audible. I look forward to more work by this author!

Loved it!

I really liked the inclusion of real Greek mythology. But the storyline was predictable and boring.

Ordinary and disappointing

This is a first read by this author for me. I keep coming across this book and had some credits to use so I did. I almost returned this audio at first. For me it was a slow listen until I got to chapter 15. I just want to say boy am I glad I didn't stop listening this book picked up and took off like a shot out of a gun. Could not stop listening it was so good I listen to it in one sitting. There's a lot of twist and turns. The characters had me chuckling, holding my breath and saying to my self No way oh my gods. A Well developed story and characters along with a super good mystery boy I did not see that coming. I guess is what I'm saying is although it stared slow for me first books in a series have to start some were and Brodsky is a slow starter author but boy can she recover quickly. Fantastic listening the narrators were so so good I'm very picky when it comes to narration and Brodsky/Petkoff brought this book to life it was so well Done and like you were watching a movie unbelievably good. I highly recommend you to listen rather than read the book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A delightful take weaving fact, fantasy and imagination built on an intriguing foundation of scholarship. This roller coaster ride takes the stories from Greek and Roman mythology that most of us, male and female alike but different parts for each, and fills in the blanks we overlooked as children, imbuing them with depth and thought provoking possible answers to many "what if" questions.

One of the best things about the audio book is the choice, first, of two narrators - male and female - throughout, and second, of the choice of those particular narrators. Robert Petkoff is one of the best narrators in the business. Each character he creates has his or her own distinctive voice and one that is absolutely true to the character. His female voices are as good as his male voices. Similarly, Ms Brodsky does a superb job of voicing not only her heroine, but all of the other voices in her segments. One might assume that an author would be the best interpreter of her own characters, but this is rarely true. Ms. Brodsky is a delightful exception.

I can only say that I was very sad when I came to the end and can only wait anxiously for more from the author.

Exciting start for a very different series
