A powerful, timely book, seeking to understand the origins and impact of the ideas that rightly or wrongly constitute "identity politics" - where they come from, what effect they have, where they could lead. His book is both an excellent analysis and an eloquent plea for the recovery of shared values, the ideas that link us instead of dividing us (Anne Applebaum)

Good, Balanced Work

A defense of the liberal principle, so easily put aside today in the name of “nobler” ideas. The sources are good, the tone is adequate, the conclusions are sound. It has also a multifaceted approach.

Very thorough and well argued

This is a complex topic that needed to be well argued and thoroughly presented. It is possibly a bit long and repetitive but I cannot see how to shorten it given the need for comprehensive coverage. Extremely well written. Performance is mediocre - a better reader would be preferable.

Interesting points raised… need more references

I think, would like to see more evidence to support the statements made by the author. I guess it is hard to show references to research materials. I will get the book in print, then update the review
