The central relationship - between the poor peasant and the even poorer old alcoholic tramp who he has taken into his home - is beautifully described and characterized, as they go from a reluctant emerging friendship, through frustration and mistrust, to the final and tragic reconciliation.

I just got tired of the narrators voice, I couldn't finish it, it's horrible. I can't review what I haven't read, but I just wanted you guys to know and if you could change the voice I would buy the book again.
