From the bestselling author of The Drowning Woman, a dark side of fame is revealed when an author is targeted online.

"A dark, twisted heart-stopper." —Heather Gudenkauf, New York Times bestselling author of The Overnight Guest

"I could not put this book down!" —Shari Lapena, internationally bestselling author of The Couple Next Door

Camryn Lane is living her dream. After years of rejection, her first novel has finally been published. Her editor is happy; her teenage daughter is proud; and her boyfriend and friends are all excited for her. She’s on top of the world—until she receives a disturbing message from an unknown sender.

Rattled by the accusations in the message, Camryn resolves to put the missive out of her mind. But when she checks her ratings on a popular book site, she finds a scathing one-star review. Soon, Camryn’s book is flooded with bad reviews. Could the reviewer be the same person who sent the ugly email? And why do they want to ruin her?

As the online harassment creeps into Camryn’s personal life, she vows to find out who’s behind it. Is it really a disgruntled reader? Or could it be someone she knows? The troll’s actions are escalating, and when the abuse turns deadly, it will take everything Camryn has to unmask the enemy so intent on destroying her—and finally learn why she's being targeted.

Reseñas de la Crítica

“Everything Robyn Harding writes turns to gold, and her newest high-octane thriller, The Haters, is no exception. A dark, twisted heart-stopper, Harding has written a cautionary tale about the dangers of engaging with online trolls and its life-altering consequences. Filled with Harding’s signature sleight of hand, The Haters grabbed me at page one and kept me blazing through the pages until the final jaw-dropping page.” —Heather Gudenkauf, New York Times bestselling author of The Overnight Guest and Everyone Is Watching
“Time and time again, Robyn Harding has proven herself a talented writer with an innate ability to spin a complex tale. Those skills are on full display with her latest novel, The Haters, which somehow manages to be both terrifying and thoughtful.”—Chevy Stevens, New York Times bestselling author of Dark Roads
“Suspenseful and affecting, The Haters is a page-turning portrayal of an author who thinks she’s about to witness her dreams come true, but gets caught up in an ever-worsening nightmare. Robyn Harding spins a twisty tale that will keep you guessing until its wholly satisfying ending.”—Clémence Michallon, Bestselling author The Quiet Tenant
“A menacing page turner with so many brilliant red herrings. I flew through it and was wrongfooted many times. A clever, cautionary, and twisted tale.”—John Marrs, Bestselling author of The One
“Harding is a master of the psychological thriller. Loaded with relatable characters, topical themes, and hairpin twists—not to mention a highly entertaining story-within-a-story— The Haters is a terrific read and reminiscent of the best of Lisa Jewell!”—Daniel Kalla, Bestselling author of Fit To Die
“A searing, riveting, razor-sharp examination of internet stalking and online bullying.” —May Cobb, author of Hunting Wives
Praise for The Drowning Woman:

"As twisty and pacey as it gets, The Drowning Woman is a dark and wild ride of redemption, betrayal, and friendship between two complex women caught in a tangle of secrets—a total page-turner."—Ashley Audrain, New York Times bestselling author of The Push
"With deceitful characters who are not what they seem, a myriad of unexpected twists and turns, and a story that moves along at high speed, The Drowning Woman is everything I love in a thriller. Robyn Harding keeps readers hooked until the end.” —Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of Local Woman Missing

SPOILER ALERT. I'm a Harding fan and I liked this one. The dual stories, the writing, and the characters were all interesting. It was plausible and timely which I liked. BUT I kept feeling like I missed some surprising connection between Burnt Orchid and The Haters. I kept expecting one of the characters from Burnt Orchid to reappear in The Haters but it never happened. Or did I miss it? Was there more of a connection other than they were both about teen troubles in different decades? Anyway, despite that minor disappointment, it kept me turning pages and that's what it's all about.

Worth the read if you like page turners

The lying and hate in this book by the haters is exactly like high school kids today.

The audio for this was fantastic -it takes the right narrator to bring a story to life, and this delivered. I went into this one with the excitement of knowing I Loved drowning woman and was hoping for another 5 star read. Though the story was good and kept me invested, unfortunately it wasn’t quite as much of a thrill as I hoped. I tend to read thrillers constantly guessing “whodunit?” And my favorite part is being completely thrown for a loop with the answer. That wasn’t really the case with this and the answer was a little more in your face all along than I would have hoped, preventing the WOW factor. In this case, the great narration is what made the book for me vs the story itself.

Another Robyn Harding gem

can't believe this is the same author who wrote the drowning woman. Harding is always an auto buy for me and I had this book preordered for awhile. I love all of her books. however, this book fell flat. maybe I'm not the targeted audience to read but it just wasn't good. maybe my hopes were too high? I kept having to go back and relisten since I was bored thru the entire thing. which never happens with her books, I'm always on the edge of my seat with her nail biting thrillers.

the main character just put out her first debut novel called the burnt orchid. she ends up getting a negative review. things esculate and the MC just handles everything ridiculously. I couldn't connect with any character in this book. they were all selfish and dumb. the only thing I found thrilling was the book the MC wrote. there are snippets of the Burnt orchard every few chapters. I wish that was the plot of this story. it sounded more exciting. I think the last few chapters were the best part of the book. I will admit I didn't figure out the big twist at the end.

maybe other authors or bloggers would relate to this book more then I did. Robyn Harding will still remain one of my favorite writers and I'll continue to purchase her books on autobuy.
