A fascinating story

I have been immersed in this fascinating and informative story. It has made me aware of the challenges faced by German Jews and how some survived by strength and “the kindness of strangers”.

Anti-semitism In Ireland

This is a great 3rd book of a series. Liesl finds first love in college, but is devastated by his family’s anti-semitism and his lack of support. She travels to Berlin for a debate competition and discovers a childhood friend. The story is full of grown-up choices of finding who you really are and where home is found. Full of love and support. While listening, tears streamed down my face as we flew home fro NY.

Once again….spellbound!

Unbelievable how quickly I am reading this series…I cannot put them down! Such a beautifully written novel account of the terrible time in the world’s history…..and the children that were saved!

You wont put this one down

Jean Grainger books are so good. I only listen to them on my commute to and from work. Sometimes, I stay in the car a few extra minutes just to keep listening. I am a full time single mom and listening to these books are the perfect ME time. I am not Irish but these books can be loved by anyone of any origin.

Fantastic series

Great character development and vivid words to describe the scenes. Liked that the book series started at the beginning of WWII and proceeded forward to have characters become adults.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish! It was my first book by Jean Grainger. So glad a friend recommended her to me! So many more books to enjoy straight ahead!

Tells the truth beyond

The truth beyond WWII is never discussed. The story brings life to those feelings in a very realistic way

Memorable, Heartbreaking, Loving

As with the first two books in this series I loved listening to it. The heart wrenching truths, the historical prowess, the incredible life lessons made this a book that will remain in my heart and on my mind for a very long time. The narrator was simply one of the very best on Audible. I can’t wait to get to book 4!
