The former Chinese mandarin, Fu Manchu, was part of (and possibly master of) a secretive Oriental organization dedicated to conquering the world, supported by a host of nefarious Middle Eastern and Oriental criminal organizations. His greatest nemesis was British investigator Sir Dennis Nayland Smith. Fu Manchu was particularly known for his jade green hypnotic eyes: Nayland Smith was one of the few people who could meet his gaze without falling under their hypnotic power. This second book of the popular mystery series continues the adventures of a pair of English detectives on the trail of their arch nemesis, the diabolical Dr. Fu Manchu.
