Resumen del Editor

"RC Boldt steps outside the typical and delivers an exceptional, original and emotional contemporary romance." (USA Today HEA Blog)

The biggest story of her life is the one he wants to hide.

I’m homeless by choice.

I have no intention of returning to my former life after what I’ve done.

This - living among the filth and discarded remnants of others - is what I deserve.

As atonement for my sins, I give back; I help those who cannot help themselves. But it’s always under the guise of anonymity.

Newspaper headlines throughout the city are clamoring to discover my identity. Including the beautiful woman who manages to see through my “armor.”

She has the capability to put my entire life at risk.

Loved it

This was my first audiobook by this author although I have read her books and love them. This was my first for both narrators as well and they did a magnificent job.

This book has a fresh plot and the story has everything you want it’s funny, sad, sweet, steamy all wrapped in awesome characters. I loved this book.

I LOVED IT!

Why do we as people have to know everything?

I really enjoyed this book, I loved getting the whole story and it made me think that questions why do we always have to know. Will it impact our life knowing the identity? No, but the actions is all that really matters because if someone else’s actions can make you a better person that focus on that. What does it matter the who?

I loved that about this book it was interesting and heartwarming these two characters were meant to meet that I believe and how it plays out really was sweet and kinda perfect.

I loved that it was all this drama but it was still interesting enough to want to know more.

I am a BIG fan of Lance his voice is one of my all-time favorites, Marisa was new to me and I enjoyed her as well I hope they get to do more together.

A wonderful story!

Well RC Boldt has done it again....she has delivered a book that is so wonderful and heartfelt that you won't be able to put this book down or stop listening. The story line for this book is so unique that the characters will grip your heart and squeeze out every emotion until you are completely wrung out but that is what makes this book so wonderful. Jude and Faith are not your typical characters but they have the common everyday hardships that any one of us could be experiencing.

I thought the narrators did a great job with this book.

A refreshing story

What a refreshing story! I loved it! I think I needed such an uplifting book right about now to feel that not all hope is lost, but there's still a chance for humanity. Lovely characters and a very engaging plot.

This book was my first narrated by Lance Greenfield and Marisa Vitali. They both did a great job with this audio. The tone of Marisa Vitali needed a bit of getting used to but I can't really tell why. I enjoyed their performance, the different voices they used.

Great Story!

The story line was amazing! I loves how there were twists and turns. I fell in love with the characters. the only thing I had a hard time with was the narration. the male voice was great but the female that was reading didn't allow me to take the characters seriously so I had to listen beyond the voices. Overall I recommend this book to anyone looking for a great feel good story.

Narration killed it for me

I love RC Boldt's stories, and this one was no exception. Great writing and intriguing story. The narration, however, had me REALLY struggling to finish the book. I listen to about 3 audible books a week and this is just one of the very, very few I had issues with. Marisa's voice was very monotone. I felt like she was reading a textbook. Very little inflection or diversity in her voice. I've never heard Lance before, so I'm not sure if this is typical of his speech or if he was doing it for the character, but he talks in a very low, gravelly, whispery voice. I kept waiting for him to say, "I'm Batman.". I loved the story, but I really struggled with paying attention because the narration was too distracting for me.

Something Different in the Best Way

The thing that I absolutely loved about The Good Samaritan is that its unique. Its not part of the same tropes and I have to say I was less interesting in the overall romance, but entranced by Jude and the person that he was. Its clear that he is a tortured soul that lives on the streets, but can't help to interfere to help those in need. The extent of his kindness was really touching and the fact that he didn't want any recognition and was a genuine good samaritan. Faith was the love interest who was doing a story to find the identity of the good samaritan so she can pay for a surgery since she's losing her hearing. She was ok, but I felt like she was a tad bit self-absorbed at the end and didn't really think about how a certain would affect Jude or why he kept his secrets so close to the heart. Let alone she didn't do all that much to really get to know who Jude was. I will say this audiobook was very enjoyable. Lace and Marisa did this one real justice. Lance was fitting for the lonesome Jude. I felt his need to be invisible and the somewhat grittiness of his voice.

Disappointed

Due to a strong recommendation from an author's fan group, I was really excited to "read" this book. Unfortunately, I couldn't disagree more with that recommendation.
I hung in to the bitter end though.
First, the narrators were not pleasant. Their voices were not well done. I'm used to the great performances of Zachary Webber, Andi Arndt, Joe Arden, and many more. However, I have to say that this book was all over the place and they were smart to avoid it.
Second, and probably more importantly, the story was ridiculous. It had promise but got crazy with all the layers of problems the author thought of to really trash the story.
It's as if the author thought, let me see now, what else can I do with the characters to muddy the waters?
Well, the hero has to be ex special forces and traumatized by an event perpetrated on his wife and unborn baby. Oh, and he must flee the state to a distant part of the country to pay penance for the crime he feels he is responsible for. And become a homeless dogooder. Who meets a priest and a newspaper journalist...
Now the heroine must have her own problems which are SECRET. Mainly, she has a genetic disorder that will render her deaf.
The list goes on and on.
Really, the deaf H/h trope has been done to death and by really good writers. Boldt is not among them.
Just a waste of time for the book.
NOT RECOMMENDED.
