The Girl in the Window
A Memoir by S. Lee Davis

Based on a True Story

She watched the world through a window. No one saw her watching. No one came to help.

Sarah grew up behind closed doors and drawn curtains, where secrets festered and survival became a full-time job. Her childhood home—tucked at the end of a gravel road in small-town Kentucky—held more than its fair share of darkness. In *The Girl in the Window*, S. Lee Davis delivers a gut-wrenching and beautifully told true story of trauma, silence, and resilience. Told through a child’s eyes and a survivor’s memory, this memoir traces the path of a girl who was overlooked by the world but never stopped watching it.

Raw, lyrical, and unforgettable, *The Girl in the Window* reminds us that sometimes the only way out… is through.

This story was such a journey from start to finish. A heart-wrenching and honest look at the girl in the window’s story. The un-flinching accounts and each individual character’s development draws you deeper and deeper in.

Such a heart wrenching story. This was such a great read for a memoir as it actually reads like a story. It’s not such a dry story but one that pulls you in and makes you question what was going to happen next. I’m so glad to know that S Lee Davis is now an adult and has her own family.
