Compelling narrative well narrated

One of the most inspiring holocaust stories. Wish they offered this in school instead of Night.

Very sad, but very well written

I really like this book. What the people had to go through was horrific in every way. The author was able to bring me into the story, and it felt like I was walking with everyone as they went through their struggles. I highly recommend this book!

Very detailed and amazing

An excellent book, well-written and honest, awesome story! one might think that for Jews of this story who hid from Nazis might be considered "lucky" that they did not experience the horrors of the camps. Maybe on some level, that might be true, but this account does away with any comparison--both were horrific! This book explains so well how it came about... i should also that i wa put off by the narrators pace and reading tone, but i did become more accepting of the voice by the time I finished!
