I looked the title details and realized this was the second book in a row, and into my knowledge the only two ever, that were narrated with virtual voice instead of an actual voice talent. While this is a cool technology, it does take all the artistry away. And when it’s not implemented very well, as here with the changing accents, it’s really annoying and ruins and otherwise perfect experience when it’s a great story. The trend is also a bit unsettling as I’m seeing more and more books narrated this way, but the price is just keep going up, and I’m pretty sure it’s not the authors that are getting the additional fees. Even the daily deal, which was very often 299, is mostly 499 these days. Prices need to stay low, or lower, and quality needs to be equal to traditional narration if publishers are going to use this technology.
