What is Texas slang? Texas slang is a unique dialect that has been developed over time by the people who live in Texas. So, where does Texas slang come from? The origins of Texas slang can be traced back to the early 1800s when settlers from Texas began moving to other parts of the United States. These settlers brought their unique dialect with them, and it gradually began to spread.

Before divin’ in, here are six steps to get ya’ll started:

1. When applyin’ Texan, think of words that end in G.
2. Then, don’t pronounce that G.
3. Texans love it when you sprinkle the term “fixin’ to” into dialogue.
4. Don’t say “you guys”. Refer to 'em as “ya’ll”.
5. Don’t ever call a Coca-Cola a "pop"; they’ve got no idea what ya’ll talkin’ about.
6. Congratulations, ya’ll now versed in Texan speak.

Great book for learning Texas words and slang. Now I wan't to move to Texas!

This was hilarious!!

I listened to this on my way to work this morning, and it was hilarious! These Texas slang words are good 'ol country fun.

Made me chuckle!

The book is very interesting and it made me chuckle! There are lot of slang words that I haven’t heard before but a lot that I’ve used too! Like “this ain’t my first rodeo” (I know!) and “tighter than bark on a log” (never heard of it!)
