Upon arriving he finds the place a war zone. After being debriefed by his friend and partner, Dustin Mercer, he views the videotapes and learns that the source of the destruction is Sophia. Footage reveals that seven minutes after her execution, she miraculously resurrected, breaking free of her bonds and overpowering several guards. Sophia Dennison has escaped and is now on the run....

The hunt is on for the first actual superhuman.

Gripping Opening

This novel caught me from the very first chapters as a clearly likeable young women is executed for having murdered her husband. It’s easy to believe that she’s innocent of the crime she’s been convicted of. And it is truly exciting when she comes back to life and starts struggling to get out of the prison.

From that point on, the book divides into two principle storylines. One follows the world’s first superhuman and the other the FBI agent who is supposed to recapture her when that is clearly impossible. Watching the heroine piece together the mystery of who really murdered her husband while the FBI agent slowly comes to the confusion that she was framed for the crime makes for a lot of tension. I found the actual super battles less compelling than those other two storylines, but it was still good action.

The Shero

I love the fact that a black woman was portrayed as smart beautiful intelligent and loving. Many stories and shows present black women in a negative light. We aren’t all what is seen on reality television shows whose goal is to grab and hold the viewers attention. This woman is a God fearing woman who has been wronged by society and seeks justice in an unjust world.

A black female complete bad ass!!!

Awesome listen while getting work done around the house. Totally had me hooked! Action from page one to the end. Would love to see this on tv one day.
