I'm not beige, you are!

One of my favorite parts of this audiobook was the bit about the origin of the word beige—how it started in France to describe natural wool, then somehow evolved into an insult for anything boring or lifeless. That perfectly sums up Bob at the beginning: all sad, safe, and stuck. But as the story pulls him deeper into this strange, surreal world, he starts to pick up color—literally and figuratively. The twist at the end, when he turns around and calls us beige? That was a clever touch. The narration kept things moving, and the writing had enough edge and humor to make me keep listening until the end.

Imaginative

I have started to listen to fiction books while i work to pass the time and open my mind to something new. I am very glad that I started this book. So far I really enjoy the narrators voice and tone. It sounds like a friend of mine is telling me a story. I really like how they describe the different realms and worlds it makes me imagine that I'm there and it is a very free feeling. Looking forward to finishing this up on my way home.

mindblowing fantasy, humor, and creativity

Just when you think you might have a handle on this fantasy novel, you're wrong. The story continues to evolve and transform from the sense of humor to the names of characters to the societal references. I don't know why but a small fraction of this reminds me of monty python and the holy grail - perhaps because of how serious but silly situations get. This book can't help but make you smile while stretching your imagination. Patience at the beginning as the main character is at his "worse" but he grows on you as does the story.

What a delightfully quirky adventure! Bob White's transformation from beige blandness to unlikely hero is genuinely captivating. This dreamlike kingdom feels both whimsical and surprisingly profound - totally unexpected and charming storytelling!

Fantastic story

This is a very cool story written from a different perspective. I liked the way the narrator reads this as he is calm, positive and adds the right amount of intensity during certain parts which leaves you listening at the edge of your seat. Entertaining and great value in this one!!

A lovely listen!

I loved the origin of “beige”—from French wool to a synonym for dullness—mirroring Bob’s bland start. As he gains literal and figurative color in a surreal realm, the final jab—calling us “beige”—was brilliant. Sharp writing and engaging narration held me rapt.

a dreamlike adventure

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The story pulled me in right away with its magical world and unique style. The main character, Bob, starts off as an ordinary guy, but his journey becomes exciting and full of surprises. The dream-like setting made everything feel fresh and imaginative.

The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and world to life. It was easy to follow, and the pacing kept me interested from start to finish. If you like fantasy with heart, adventure, and a touch of humor, this is a great listen.

Really exciting and eventful

I like the unique way in which this story exists being inside of a dream. It really makes the whole story that much more interesting. There is a great development with the main character and his adventure is truly an exciting one!

The everlasting dreams is a decent read. It can get confusing as it is a dream after all. The book didn't resonnate with me as much as I would like, the storyline feel a litlte big confusing so you might have to relisten to some part to enjoy the story more.

Unique and quite entertaining

I really enjoyed the narrative of the story. It was fun and kept me hanging on even if some parts were a little confusing. I was able to catch up later. I listen to a lot of books on 2x speed but this one will get you lost if you do. The narrator was great and easy to listen to and the quality of the recording was great.
